Amber Crimmings is running for Rockwall Tax Assessor/Collector:

Amber Crimmings was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Named by her parents after “Amber waves of grain…” she lives in the City of Rockwall and has lived in Texas for most of her life. An Active Duty service member for seven years in the United States Army, honorably discharged in 2005. As part of the Signal Corps, she operated secure servers and systems for the Intel community. Oversaw large scale projects to include construction sites, as well as operations and equipment accountability. Holder of upper-level security clearances, attesting to her knowledge of data, project, and operational security. Air Assault Qualified, she received 7 Army Achievement Medals, among other awards during her service. She was sponsored by her unit to participate in the Army Ten-Miler events in DC. Her duty stations were Alaska, USSOUTHCOM in Miami, FL, and she also spent exercise time in South Korea. After Honorably Discharging as an SSG, she then spent time in the Ft. Hood area to be family-oriented; raising her two children, while also running Family Readiness Groups in support of units while deployed and otherwise. In 2012 she graduated Cum Laude from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, in Belton, TX, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with Teaching Certification. For almost five subsequent years, Amber then proceeded to continue to serve and teach High School in a school district around Ft. Hood, comprised of a substantial population of military families and students to both educate and support. Amber moved to Rockwall county in 2017 to work with local artists and communities. As an Artistic Director in Dallas, her duties are to plan gallery shows and events. She concentrates in mentoring local artists to infuse business principles into what they do, site design, as well as working with surrounding cities and businesses in the DFW area. She wants to increase cultural areas and integrate the arts into business and development plans in ways that enrich communities and create growth. She sits on the City of Rockwall’s ART Commission Board.
