Squarely about Elon.

...... But maybe not only about Elon. It is my firm belief that Elon is basically a patsy. Sure, he is as noxious as noxious can be, but when he is front and center in every assault on government in general and our civil rights in particular, there is a danger we might forget who gave him the power to be the kid throwing sand at everyone else in the sandbox.

At some point, Trump will bank on some Americans' distaste for uber-wealhy citizens who were not born here but acquired citizenship at a later stage. Citizens with weird accents, weird and awkward body language. He will make those Americans feel that Elon was never really a Trump avatar - somehow, he used Trump in his own quest for power.

Am I shedding any tears on the inevitable loss of our poor little rich boy? Not at all. He is as dangerous, arrogant and incompetent as Juicy Lawless our current president. Although I doubt that Trump is articulate enough to have a grand plan, what is going on now is that he is keeping us in such a traumatized state with his assault on the economy, the government and immigrants that we don't always see how he is erasing our past and endangering our future. Trump is writing minorities and their achievements out of the history books. At the same time, his assault on education at all stages and ages makes sure that we are producing a generation of people ready for indoctrination in the church of Trump. So much is going on in what Steve Bannon described as "flooding the zone" that we obsess over clear and present danger - sometimes at the risk of seeing the big picture.

I am taking solace in the fact that we are not powerless. The growing unpopularity of the present administration will eventually cause Republican lawmakers to peel off Trump - most of them not because they grew a spine, but because they want to be reelected. What we must do as democrats (small d not a typo) is protect the press and make sure we get truly free and fair elections next year. That will bring some relief from the reign of terror or Juicy Lawless, would be Prince Warrior.

I think Elon and the other billionaires should be running their own companies or sitting on the beach. But taking 'things' away from the people who made him wealthy is completely ridiculous. Americans that support the current kakistocracy are not paying attention to the needs of millions of their neighbors. What person in the city of Rockwall could possibly think they will become a billionaire because of the wreckage the current regime is creating. What does my neighbor believe they are getting out of this? A check?
